Welcome to the Borough of SPELTHORNE in south Middlesex
It was incorporated in 1974 by bringing together the Middlesex Urban Districts of Staines and Sunbury on Thames. Wraysbury is in Buckinghamshire but Middlesex is its postal County.
Spelthorne is a Middlesex ‘Hundred’ – a Hundred is an area at the heart of Saxon Local Government. Today’s Borough of Spelthorne bears a name rich with Middlesex heritage, but is not to be confused with the Hundred of Spelthorne which takes in the whole modern borough plus the parishes of East Bedfont, Feltham, Hampton, Hanworth and Teddington.
